Installation Guidelines for ASA Synthetic Resin Roof Tiles

    1.Purlin Selection & Spacing

Purlins can be constructed from square tubes (60×40×3mm), C-channel steel (100×50×20×3mm), or anti-corrosion treated wood (60×40mm). The recommended purlin spacing is 660mm, with an upward installation arrangement.

    2.Main Tile Installation

Install the main tiles according to the prevailing local wind direction. For reverse installation (against the wind direction), begin installation from the midpoint of the roof and work outwards.

    3.Ridge Tile Installation

    • Before installing the main ridge tiles, cut a section from the first ridge tile to ensure a proper fit.
    • The joints between main ridge tiles and hip ridge tiles must be cut neatly for a tight seal.
    • Install three-way ridge tiles only after the main ridge tiles and hip ridge tiles are fully installed.

    4.Fastening & Installation Requirements

    • Pre-drill holes with an electric drill first, then secure the tiles with hook screws. The hole diameter must be 2mm larger than the hook screw to allow for thermal expansion.
    • Hook screws should be tightened moderately — do not over-tighten them.
    • We recommend using 6.3mm diameter self-tapping screws for all fastenings.

    5.Cutting & Sealing

Use a fine-tooth saw for tile cutting. Adhesives may be used to seal the overlaps between two tiles.

    6.Overlap & Roof Specifications

    • Longitudinal overlap between tiles should be at least 100mm.
    • The recommended roof pitch is 1:5 to 1:6.
    • For roofs with lateral pressure, the horizontal fastener spacing must not exceed 800mm.
